It’s up to us now! As a result of the passing of the “Big Beautiful Bill,” more than 25,000 of us in Chester County will no longer have access to basic healthcare and food. The government we tasked with caring for the most vulnerable in our communities has failed us. Provisions in this bill will have profoundly negative impacts on access to healthcare, housing, food, education, immigration, safety, and other essential services due to cuts to Medicaid, SNAP and other critical programs. Our social service organizations are already overwhelmed with waiting lists for housing programs, eviction prevention, drivers’ education classes, workforce skills training, medical and dental care, reproductive healthcare, and so much more.

Our nonprofit organizations play a vital role in maintaining the health and well-being of our communities, and now that the BBB has passed, many will see their resources drastically diminish while the needs skyrocket. There are dire examples from all around our county.
