On March 24, The Fund for Women and Girls will travel to Harrisburg for a day of advocacy at the Pennsylvania Capitol.
Participants will spend the morning delivering informational materials to legislators and, when possible, meeting directly with elected officials in support of paid leave (Family Care Act). These conversations help build awareness and momentum around issues such as economic equity and workplace fairness.
In the afternoon, participants will gather on the Rotunda steps of the Capitol Building at 1:00 PM to support a rally advocating for equal pay (Equal Pay Act).
The rally will highlight legislation introduced by Representative Melissa Shusterman that aims to advance pay equity. While the bill has already passed the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, it is currently awaiting action in the Senate.
Advocates, community members, and supporters are encouraged to join the day’s activities. March 24 is expected to be a busy day at the Capitol, as it is one of the few weeks this month when both legislative chambers will be in session.
If you are interested in participating in the advocacy day and Equal Pay rally, please sign up here. Together, these efforts help ensure that policymakers hear directly from community members about the importance of advancing policies that support economic security and opportunity for women and families.
