LISTENING SESSIONS

Listening Sessions

Our Listening Sessions bring together women and girls who are most directly affected by gender discrimination. We create space for them to share their experiences, name the barriers they face, and identify what would improve their lives.

Sessions take shape in different ways. Sometimes we proactively seek out perspectives we’re missing. Sometimes community partners invite us in to hear from the people they serve. Sometimes an opportunity emerges naturally at an event or gathering. However they come about; each session centers the voices that are too often ignored.

Our goal is simple:

Understand the issues and the solutions directly from the people who live with them.
Their insights guide where we focus our energy, how we advocate, and what systemic changes we pursue.

  • Recent sessions have included:

  • High school

  • college students

  • Immigrant women

  • Single mothers

Upcoming sessions will include domestic violence survivors and nonprofit leaders from across the county.
