The 4th Trimester MOMMIE

The 4^th Trimester MOMMIE (MOMMIE) was awarded a General Partner Grant to help fund their support for postpartum women experiencing health difficulties.  The United States has the worst maternal mortality rates of all high-income countries, especially among black women, and 84% of maternal deaths are due to preventable causes. A nurse-led maternal health organization, MOMMIE helps mothers recognize warning signs early, access resources and stay connected with their healthcare providers during the critical weeks after childbirth. Additionally, MOMMIE advocates policies and practices to improve black maternal health outcomes in Chester County.
