Kim Andrews Named as New Executive Director for The Fund for Women and Girls

WEST CHESTER, PA (April 26, 2022) – The Fund for Women and Girls’ Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Kim Andrews as Executive Director effective on May 2, 2022. Prior to this position, Ms. Andrews served as Executive Director of the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia. The Board’s action comes with the fullest confidence that Ms. Andrews will be an excellent steward of The Fund’s mission and a leader and advocate for women and girls in Chester County.

With years of experience in the nonprofit and philanthropic communities, Ms. Andrews brings to this new role her strengths as an accomplished leader, collaborator, and communicator who forges meaningful community partnerships and cares deeply about women’s advancement. As a former leader of an international nonprofit, Ms. Andrews has broad experience in creating deep and lasting relationships that will help expand The Fund’s grantmaking, fundraising, and educational opportunities in Chester County.

Ms. Andrews was selected by a Search Committee comprised of current Board members, former Board members, and donors representing a variety of professional and community backgrounds, lived experiences, and volunteer responsibilities at The Fund. Overall, the Search Committee members provided diversity, and reflected, advocated and supported the organization’s mission. The Chair of the Search Committee, former Board Chair Judi Bell, adds, “The work of the Search Committee and our recruitment firm JANE.hr was an extensive, thoughtful process in selecting The Fund’s leader. We are very excited about Kim’s experience, skills, and ideas to propel our future.”

The Board also thanks Interim Executive Director Mary Beth Morrissey for her leadership and collaboration with Board and staff over the past several months to ensure that The Fund’s work continued throughout this transition period.

Ms. Andrews is eager to dive into her new role at The Fund: “I am honored to helm The Fund as the next Executive Director, serving with committed staff, board, and volunteers to lead and unite Chester County through philanthropy and advocacy. Throughout my nonprofit career and my personal life, I have actively advanced women and girls, mentoring junior peers and supporting inclusion for all, and I am thrilled to have this professional opportunity to ensure that women and girls have resources and opportunities to thrive.”

Additionally, Ms. Andrews holds a Master’s Degree in Preventive Conservation from Northumbria University, a certificate in Nonprofit Management from LaSalle University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History and French from Temple University. She currently lives in Merion Station, PA.
