CHESTER COUNTY FUND FOR WOMEN AND GIRLS ANNOUNCES KITCHEN TABLE AWARD

Moira Mumma to receive CCFWG award at the

11th Making a Difference Luncheon on May 6, 2016

 

WEST CHESTER, PA (February 2, 2016) – Moira Mumma, long-time advocate for social change in Chester County has been named the 2016 recipient of the Chester County Fund for Women and Girls’(CCFWG) Kitchen Table Award. She will be honored at the CCFWG Making a Difference Luncheon, at the Desmond Hotel and Conference Center in Malvern on Friday, May 6, 2016.

The Chester County Fund for Women and Girls established the Kitchen Table Award to honor outstanding Chester County women who have demonstrated leadership and made substantive contributions through service and/or philanthropy to improve our community.

Ms. Mumma has a long history of working to advance and improve the lives of women and girls and was an active participant in helping set the vision and tone of CCFWG as an original board member. Ms. Mumma has been the driving force behind promoting independence and justice for Chester County residents and organizations alike in her role as founder of Citizen Advocacy of Chester County, as well as the Community Coalition. She has also served on the Board of Orion Communities, Historic Yellow Springs, and the Chester County Community Foundation. Ms. Mumma’s passionate and dedicated involvement in a variety of non-profit organizations has led to community betterment. CCFWG is pleased to highlight her achievements at our May 6th Making a Difference Luncheon.

The 2016 Luncheon will also feature keynote speaker T. Morgan Dixon, co-founder of GirlTrek, a groundbreaking three-year-old national nonprofit based in Washington, D.C that inspires and supports African American women and girls to live their healthiest, most fulfilled lives – simply by walking. She is a relentless street-organizer who is deeply inspired by her family and the philosophies of many influential women.
